One of the criticisms the world gives to Christians, in general, is that they seem to not care for the earth. Perhaps they're right. A True Believer in Yeshua should love what God loves. God loves His creation. He IS the Creator. Nature is a reflection of His nature and scripture is constantly telling us to pay attention to the lessons that the earth and creation desire to reveal, the parables and symbolism between creation and nature - and us. The world and all that is in it, around it, above it, is designed to glorify God. Are we paying attention? Are we bing good stewards of what He gave us?

GENESIS 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

GENESIS 1:27-30 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
And God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea nd over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;
and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so. [NASB]

We are stewards of all that God created. To be a steward means we remember that we are caring for something that ultimately belongs to another. We are to care for, and manage well, the earth and all that is in it. [Read Matthew 25:14-30]

GENESIS 1:31 And God saw all the He had made, and behold, it was very good. [NASB]

GENESIS 22:14 So Abraham named that place Yahweh Appears. Even to this day, it is said, “On Yahweh’s Mountain there is vision.” [TPT]

EXODUS 9:23 ADONAI caused it to hail on the land of Egypt…but in the land of Goshen, where the people of Isra’el were, there was no hail. [CJB]

EXODUS 9:29 …the thunder will end, and there won’t be any more hail – so that you can know that the earth belongs to ADONAI. [CJB]

PSALM 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.

PSALM 24:1-2 God claims the world as his. Everything and everyone belongs to him! He’s the one who pushed back oceans to let the dry ground appear, planting firm foundations for the earth. [TPT]

PSALM 23:2 [God’s] tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss (the waters of a resting place).” [TPT]

PSALM 23:4 …valley of deepest darkness… [TPT]

The voice of the Lord echoes through the skies and seas.
The Glory-God reigns as he thunders in the clouds.
So powerful is his voice, so brilliant and bright, how majestic as he thunders of the great waters!
His tympanic thunder topples the strongest of trees.
His symphonic sound splinters the might forests.
Now he moves Zion’s mountains by the might of his voice, shaking the snowy peaks with his earsplitting sound!
God reveals himself when he makes the fault lines quake, shaking deserts, speaking his voice.
God’s mighty voice makes the deer to give birth.
His thunderbolt voice lays the forest bare.

NAHUM 1:3 The Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet.
NAHUM 1:4 He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers.
NAHUM 1:5 The mountains quake before Him, the hills melt, and the earth heaves at His presence.

It's always important to understand context in all verses. In Nahum, this is a prophecy over Nineveh. The were wicked and this was just before the final fall of the city. God is revealing Himself as both a judge and a place of safety: who He was depended on the person, the wicked knew Him as a vengeful God but those who trusted God knew Him as a stronghold and protection. These verses show how nature is part of God's personality/who He is. Nature responds to God.

NAHUM 1:15 Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good tidings, who proclaims peace!

HABAKKUK 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

HABAKKUK 2:20 But the LORD is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.

Scripture warns us constantly of misunderstanding concepts because we are so prone to leaning on our own understanding. Here, it is easy to worship nature; to declare that it leads and directs. Creation speaks of the Creator, that is all. Nature REVEALS. Creation is never to be worshipped; it is designed only to reveal God's glory.
