This is a topic that God has spent decades teaching me…because I needed some deep lessons and a major change in my thought life; getting brutally honest about my real motives. I was deceived into thinking I had good motives in many aspects of my life, but God was so gentle and gracious to show me how void of love I was in my thought life and motives. Anyone can learn to adapt behaviors to suit certain situations and moments, but real change comes when we learn to love in our thoughts and in our motives. Then, our words and behaviors won’t need any effort on our part as when our heart is pure and filled with the love of God, it automatically flows out of us.
